Cecily Legler Strong has been known as a well-known American comedian, actor and performer on the show 'Saturday Night Live. Her career began with theater, but was drawn to comedy when she was nine following a course in improv. She initially set out to become an actor, however, she realized her true calling is comedy. After that, she shifted her focus to performing in improv. She started her career as a cruise ship performer with crew members of Second City Conservatory, iO Chicago and other improv troupes. Strong performed in popular shows like Chicago Sketch Fest, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, New York Sketchfest, and Virgin Daiquiri which is an female-only improv troupe. Her fame was boosted in 2012 when she was featured in "Saturday Night Live" during the 39th season as a member of the cast, hosting Weekend Update with Seth Meyers initially, and Colin Jost later. Her character in "The Girls You'd Like to Not start a conversation with at a Parties" was the most reminscent part of the show. The same year she began her film career with the short film "How to Fund the Uterus'. She is openly against showing women as bikini-models, or even girlfriends but not as major characters in mainstream films.
