Zoe-perry
Perry was born to Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as seen by flashback) her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. But her parents would not allow her to act until she turned an adult because of the impact stress might have on their daughter. Perry she was timid to perform in the school, began performing at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new friends. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, relocated into New York in search of TV roles. Perry was able to land small roles on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness brought her back to California to find theater work. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway together as part of The Other Place, in 2013. Perry was in the show with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 at The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on ABC's show The Family. In 2017, Perry played a supporting role in ABC's political thriller Scandal in which her father was the main character. She played the role of the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. She was cast in the role in an audition that was open despite being a fan of this role.
